Four times World Cup Champions Germany are set for FIFA Confederations Cup 2017 that will be played in 2017. Team coach Joachim Low hopes that Marco Reus can spearhead Germany’s 2017 Confederations Cup squad after missing two big football events. Marco Reus is currently playing for Borussia Dortmund and has been an amazing form since his return from injury. The player already missed 2014 FIFA World Cup and 2016 UEFA Euro Championship. But Low wants him in squad to compete for FIFA Confederations Cup 2017.
Almost half of season 2016-17 is gone and Reus missed most of it due to injuries. Since his return, Reus has scored 4 goals in five games for Borussia Dortmund in Bundesliga and UEFA Champions League. He last palyed for Germany against Italy in March 2016 when Germany won by 4-1. Low hopes that Marco Reus can play a crucial role in FIFA Confederations Cup 2017 football championship. He said
“It would indeed be good if players like Marco Reus who have not been with us for a long time could participate in the Confed. Cup,” the Germany boss said. “That would be a good opportunity for them to make an impression again and get used to our processes.”
He also said that he will open chances for Germany’s second team in the FIFA Confederations Cup games. This means Low can rest some German players to give them a break busy football schedule. Check out fixtures of FIFA Confd. cup 2017 football.
